An interesting non precious opal stone with random mottling of maroon-brown, red, and pink spot and patch patterns of hematite and other iron minerals against a white opal background; wears well with most colors; typically better with dark versus light colors and earth tone versus bright colors, as the varied color patterns are more distinct against dark and earth tone background colors; also nicely worn with patterned clothing. Predominantly an artistic stone demonstrated by non-standard shape and surface contour; unique, random mottled pattern and some minor natural surface pitting.

Description: Random pink and red to maroon-brown mottling against an opaque white; long rounded triangular shaped stone wrapped in 22 gauge gold filled wire.

Stone Size: Medium (1-1/8” x 11/16” x 7/16”).

Pattern: Mottled pink, red, and maroon-brown against a white background.

Contour: Smooth sloped, ridged face.

Unique Features: A non-precious opal (no internal fire) with an attractive color combination and pattern, some natural fine pitted and porous areas, especially left side.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant to quite rough in some areas.

Edges: Smooth, flat to blade like high dome; finely pitted and porous left side.

Treatment: None; natural stone, smoothed and polished only.
