Mordenite Nugget Pendant Wire Wrapped .925 Sterling Silver

Mordenite Nugget Pendant Wire Wrapped in .925 Sterling Silver Round Wire

A fascinating stone nugget composed of fine compact radial fibrous mordenite crystals. Mordenite is a zeolite mineral similar in structure to larimar (blue pectolite), and also to another more familiar zeolite mineral, scolecite (cream white), but color variation of this particular crystal stone is white or light pink to rich coral-orange. Similar to carnelian in color, mordenite is quite versatile, especially complimenting blue, black, brown, beige/tan, cream, and white colored clothing, and wears quite well with yellow and green. It is attractive against most light pastel and dark colored backgrounds, but some caution should be taken with some medium and earth tone pink and orange colors, as it may blend into them. A non-standard rather organic shape and contour, inconsistent color variation, and multiple pitted nugget-like surface make this stone more appealing to an artistic or naturalistic view.

Comment: Haven’t seen this stone before? Some stones and crystals aren’t abundant enough to be produced commercially. They may only be found as one or a few in random places; at very small, unique sources; or under conditions where excessive sorting through a large amount of unattractive material becomes too labor intensive to be worth any large commercial endeavor. This crystalline stone is of one of these classes. We get this stone from its source. A unique, handmade, genuine semi-precious stone pendant, this piece is posted individually, not merely a representative item - what you see is what you get.
