Hematite Streaked Maroon Jasper Pendant Wire Wrapped in 14/20 Gold Filled Round Wire

A rare beautifully colored and patterned hematite streaked and veined dominant maroon stone with subtle varied colors of mostly lavender and yellow throughout; it is a rather versatile piece, matching well with many colors of clothing, particularly darker or lighter shades; wears well with earth tones; probably not well suited with brightly colored clothing however, especially orange, yellow, yellow-green, or turquoise; a mostly artistic stone due to a non-standard shape, contour, unusual color combination, pattern, and some natural fine surface pitting.

Description: A varied color stone of metallic black within a dominant maroon combined in a fine dot and spot pattern of lavender and yellow; rounded trapezium shaped, opaque stone wrapped in 22 gauge gold filled round wire.

Stone Size: Large (1-3/16” x 7/8” x 1/2”).

Pattern: Same as description.

Contour: Smooth curved nearly flat face.

Unique Features: Unusual colors; streak and patch patterns; some few natural fine pits both front and back.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth.

Treatment: None; natural stone, smoothed and polished only.

Comment: Haven’t seen this stone before? Although there are many; and many types, of agate and jasper, some specific kinds aren’t abundant enough to be produced commercially. They may only be found as one or a few in random places; at very small, unique sources; or under conditions where excessive sorting through a large amount of unattractive material becomes too labor intensive to be worth any large commercial endeavor.
