A fascinating stone of diverse colors and patterns similar to red moss agate with rich mossy red-orange but also with patches and streaks of metallic black hematite against a background of translucent clear to white; best worn with dark clothing, especially brown, black, green, and blue; also combines well with most earth tone colors, medium, and light colors, including white. Red, maroon, orange, and combinations of these colors should be avoided, as they tend to blend. Color variation, mossy pattern, metallic black streaks and patches, and non-standard shape make this a predominantly artistic stone.

Description: A rich mossy red-orange with black streaks and patches against a clear to white background; slightly rounded trapezium, nearly rectangular, translucent to opaque stone, wrapped in 20 gauge sterling silver wire.

Stone Size: Large (1-7/16” x 13/16” x 1/4”).

Pattern: Random mottled mossy red-orange with patches and streaks of metallic black hematite in clear to white base.

Contour: Smooth, flat face.

Unique Features: Bright red and orange color and mossy pattern; a few very small natural pits near bottom.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth with minor distortions.

Treatment: None; natural stone, smoothed and polished only.
