The original black onyx, now more commonly called black lace agate, as the term for black onyx now typically defines solid or nearly solid black jasper. A unique, elegant stone bead pendant, with clear to white crystalline quartz right side transitioning to clear, light brown and solid black left side; wears well with many colors of clothing, light to dark as both black and white universally match with most colors, also very nicely worn with similar patterned clothing. A very artistic stone, but also appealing to a purist view as shape and contour are quite standard.

Description: clear to white quartz crystalline right side, transitioning to clear, light brown, and black left side; rounded rectangular, translucent to opaque stone bead wrapped in 22-gauge sterling silver wire.

Bead Size: Medium (1-1/8” x 3/4” x 5/16”).

Pattern: Concentric banding; floating crystalline quartz; white to clear and finally black transition.

Contour: Smooth low dome, nearly flat face.

Unique Features: Concentric alternating banding; clear to white crystalline quartz; color transitions.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth.

Treatment: Unknown; black color is probably dye enhanced, as much of the black onyx and black lace agate in the modern market often are.
