A sharp contrasting stone of a translucent brown to gray base color and an irregular, angular, lightning like black line pattern; best worn as a contrast with lighter colors, especially white, beige, light blue, gray, and yellow. It is also generally a good match with medium and earth tone colors, but tends to blend and lose visibility with many dark colors; shape and surface contour may appeal to a purist view; but color variation and pattern are definitely artistic.

Description: Translucent gray to brown with an irregular angular black line pattern; rectangular shaped, opaque stone wrapped in 22 gauge .925 sterling silver wire.

Stone Size: Medium (1-1/8” x 13/16” x 5/16”).

Pattern:  Irregular angular black lines against a translucent gray brown background.

Contour: Smooth low dome face, flat at top and bottom at bottom.

Unique Features: Color transitions and line pattern.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth.

Treatment: Probably heat treated and quenched to cause cracking; and the cracked line pattern is probably dyed black. The translucent gray base is a natural chalcedony color; the brown coloration may be natural as well, but may also be result from a dyeing process.
