Also called optical calcite or Iceland spar, this inspiring crystal exhibits almost pure transparent clarity with double refraction and some internal crystal plane reflection, refraction with iridescent rainbow coloration. As it is clear to white, with some reflection and refraction of background color; it is very versatile and can be worn with any color of clothing. An imperfect and irregular rhombohedral shape, the natural crystalline state, internal crystal plane variation, and exposed surface crystal plate edges find most interest in the artist and naturalist realm. 

Description: Clear, natural, irregular rhombohedral shaped, transparent to translucent crystal, wrapped in 22-gauge sterling silver round wire.

Crystal Size: Small (1” x 7/16” x 3/8”).

Pattern: Solid clear to lightly cloudy mineral crystal with internal crystal plane distortions, and some internal iridescent coloration.

Contour: Smooth, lightly stepped, flat face.

Unique Features:  High clarity, and multiple internal crystal planes with internal reflection, refraction, and iridescent coloration.  

Polish: Unpolished, natural crystal, brilliant.

Edges: Natural, sloped, flat, slightly stepped along crystal planes.
