I love buying from Jemel because they don't do anything to their crystals (treat them in anyway). They are unique and beautifully set in gold or silver wire. Their prices are reasonable and they ship very quickly. I'm a repeat customer.

Meteorite Sikhote Alin Pendant Wire Wrapped .925 Sterling Silver

  • 2,45200

Meteorite, Sikhote-Alin Pendant Wire Wrapped in .925 Sterling Silver Round Wire

This iron-nickel octahedrite meteorite is a remnant of the Sikhote-Alin Meteor that fell in the Sikhote-Alin Mountains of southeastern Russia on February 12, 1947. Weight estimates of post fall material range from 23,000 to 31,000 kg with pre-entry mass of the meteoroid from 90,000 to 100,000 kg. The fall of this meteor produced 106 impact craters up to 28 meters (about 30 yards) in diameter over an area of 100 meters by 660 meters in a thick forest environment. Fragments (meteorites) weighing up to 300 kg have been recovered. An attractive, medieval appearing natural meteorite displays a combination of metallic silver gray with some remnant black fusion crust. While presented reasonably well with most colors of clothing, it is best worn with earth tone colors, also a good conversation piece; suits a naturalistic or artistic view best.

Description: Metallic silver gray to nearly black, jagged organic, opaque metal form wrapped in 22 gauge sterling silver round wire.

Meteorite Size: Small (13/16” x 11/16” x 3/8”).

Pattern: Exposed silver metallic gray beneath a charcoal black fusion crust.

Contour: Abraded and sheared, organic both front and back..

Unique Features: Metallic and black coloration, meteorite shape and form, and magnetic (attracted to a magnet).

Polish: Natural meteorite, rough, natural polished metallic.

Edges: Fine, organic, somewhat jagged, but worn or molten and smooth.

Treatment: None; natural meteorite.

Comment: A unique, handmade, genuine semi-precious stone pendant, this piece is posted individually, not merely a representative item - what you see is what you get.
