Moroccan Septarian Nodule Pendant Wire Wrapped in .925 Sterling Silver Round Wire

An interesting and intriguing stone from the Cretaceous geologic time period  (50 to 70 million years ago); Septarian nodules were formed as plant and animal organic matter within balls of sea sediment decomposed to create open cracks that subsequently filled with calcite, aragonite, pyrite and other minerals forming star-like partitioned patterns of white to yellow calcite and/or light to dark brown aragonite with scattered golden metallic pyrite, they present beautiful color combinations and patterns, and also make nice conversation pieces, especially for educational or scientific interest. High color contrast within this stone makes it wear well with most colors of clothing. Mostly an artistic piece due to star-like color patterns and non-standard shape; a natural nodule back and its prehistoric background also make it quite appealing to a naturalist point of view.
