Rock Art Jasper Pendant Wire Wrapped in Bronze Round Wire

A really interesting mix of color and pattern, this stone features a sharp contrasting random abstract composition of winding metallic black hematite within a maroon, mauve, and lavender background with patches of white and mauve pink agate like banding. Wears well with most colors of clothing; brings attention and awareness to the wearer when worn with most earth tone and/or dark colors; it should also wear fine with light or pastel colors, but it is not a stone for bright colors, especially orange, yellow, yellow-green or turquoise; a dominantly artistic stone, though a near standard triangular shape and flat contour may provide some appeal to a purist view as well.

Description: A sharp contrasting white to mauve-pink agate like banding against a mixed metallic black, maroon, mauve, and lavender base color; rounded triangular shaped opaque stone, wrapped in 20 gauge bronze wire.

Stone Size: Large (1-1/2” x 1-3/8” x 1/4”).

Pattern: Mixed patterns of mauve-pink to white agate like banding and winding metallic black against patchy maroon, lavender, mauve, and brown.

Contour: Smooth flat face.

Unique Features: High contrast color and pattern combinations; agate like banding.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth, domed.

Treatment: None; natural stone, smoothed and polished only.

Comment: Haven’t seen this stone before? Although there are many; and many types, of agate and jasper, some specific kinds aren’t abundant enough to be produced commercially. They may only be found as one or a few in random places; at very small, unique sources; or under conditions where excessive sorting through a large amount of unattractive material becomes too labor intensive to be worth any large commercial endeavor.
