A fascinating mixed agate stone of interesting patterns of large white lace agate with some internal crystalline quartz within a sinuous blend of red and brown moss agate; quite a versatile piece, it matches well with many colors of clothing, particularly darker or lighter shades; nice with black, brown, beige, tan, red, gray, and white. Most earth tone colors also match well. While the flat surface contour of this stone might give some appeal to a purist view, this stone definitely fits an artistic or naturalistic style type best, as it varies greatly in color and pattern with contrasting clear to white patches engulfed in a red to brown moss like host.

Description: Large clear to white lace agate patches surrounded by red-brown moss agate; rounded curved trapezium shaped, opaque to translucent stone wrapped in 20-gauge sterling silver round wire.

Stone Size: Large (1-3/8” x 1-1/8” x 1/4”).

Pattern: Large clear to white lacey patches within a red to brown moss agate host stone.

Contour: Smooth flat face.

Comment: Haven’t seen this stone before? Although there are many; and many types, of agate and jasper, some specific kinds aren’t abundant enough to be produced commercially. They may only be found as one or a few in random places; at very small, unique sources; or under conditions where excessive sorting through a large amount of unattractive material becomes too labor intensive to be worth any large commercial endeavor.
