A rich and elegant stone of a consistent very dark purple, best viewed in bright light, as it will appear almost black in low light conditions; nicely worn with most colors of clothing, especially in a formal setting, but better with light to medium hues for contrast and its tendency to blend with darker colors; probably not well suited with earth tone colors generally. The consistent color, standard teardrop cabochon shape, uniform domed surface, and near flawless front surface make this stone best suited to a purist view.
