Banded Jasper Pendant Wire Wrapped in 14/20 Gold Filled Round Wire

Banded jasper is described mostly by pattern and exists in a wide variety of colors. This is a uniquely colored stone features a granular appearance at the top with mauve brown coloration and wavy ribbon like non uniform banding of beige, cream, and gray. Very versatile, this stone wears well with most colors and hues of clothing, especially earth tone colors; not so well suited with bright colors, especially orange, yellow, and yellow-green; a mostly artistic stone due to color variation, banding pattern, and non-standard shape; a flat contour may appeal to a purist view. 

Description: A mauve brown topped, wavy ribbon banded stone in beige, cream and gray; curved kite shaped, and opaque, wrapped in 22-gauge gold filled round wire.

Size: Medium (1-1/4” x 5/8” x 1/2”).

Pattern: Varied granular top; wavy ribbon like banding, bottom.

Contour: Smooth flat face.

Unique Features: Unique colors and banding, shape and contour.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth, sloped, flat.

Comment: Haven’t seen this stone before? Although there are many; and many types, of agate and jasper, some specific kinds aren’t abundant enough to be produced commercially. They may only be found as one or a few in random places; at very small, unique sources; or under conditions where excessive sorting through a large amount of unattractive material becomes too labor intensive to be worth any large commercial endeavor.
