Some rainbow or iridescent coloration is exhibited from internal crystal planes. As it is clear, it is very versatile and can be worn with any colors of clothing; a near perfect rhombohedral shape and nearly flat surfaces provide appeal to a purist view; the natural crystalline state and shape also find interest in the artist and naturalist realm.

Description: A mostly clear crystal with some well-defined internal crystal plane distortions and varied rainbow refraction; rhombohedral shaped, wrapped in 22-gauge gold filled wire.

Crystal Size: Medium (13/16” x 11/16” x 5/16”).

Pattern: Solid mostly clear stone with well-defined external and internal crystal planes and some rainbow color refraction.

Contour: Smooth mostly flat face.

Unique Features: High clarity; near perfect rhombohedral crystal form; clearly seen double refraction.

Polish: Unpolished, natural crystal surfaces, brilliant.

Edges: Natural, slanted, flat surfaces, some natural broken surfaces.

Treatment: None; natural mineral crystal.

Comment: A very nice example of the double refractive quality in clear calcite. A unique, handmade, genuine semi-precious stone pendant, this piece is posted individually, not merely a representative item - what you see is what you get.

https://jemelww.com/en-sa/products/calcite-crystal-optical-calcite-iceland-spar-pendant-wire-wrapped-14k-20-gold-filled-02
