This naturally patterned stone features irregular patches and lines in predominant red and yellow with some faint brown coloration. While beautifully colored and patterned, petrified wood is often worn for educational or scientific interest; and as a conversation piece as well. It wears best with beige/tan, brown or black, and most earth tone colors; it should wear fine with dark colors in general. Shape and contour reasonably appeal to a purist view; color and pattern variation and a healed fracture on front and back surfaces best suit an artistic view.
