Orthoceras Fossil Pendant Wire Wrapped in .925 Sterling Silver Round Wire

This Orthoceras fossil, a straight cone nautiloid, shallow sea water creature, fossilized by calcite, most likely lived sometime within the geologic Ordovician to Devonian periods (about 416 to 488 million years ago). Often worn for educational or scientific interest, and as a conversation piece, it is, nevertheless, a beautiful stone of segmented light gray to charcoal coloration. While black and gray tone colors (grays, blues, purples, etc.) make attractive combinations, brown tones (browns, reds, orange, yellows, etc.) should be avoided. It is most appropriately worn with earth tones, or clothing designed for natural world interest.
