Also called a druzy chalcedony rose; an elegant variety of freeform chalcedony featuring a natural fine druzy quartz crystal surface, this intriguing stone features a fascinating shape and contour in sparkling ice white to light gray-white, similar in appearance to a natural snow encrusted ice flow. A very light dependent stone, it is best worn under sunlight, spotlight, or other bright light or light in darkness contrast conditions. Under ambient or low light conditions, the surface has an appearance similar to velvet and the sparkling surface flashes are often not seen at all. Very versatile and wears well with almost any color and hue (light, medium, dark, bright, or earthy), but probably better with gray and blue tone colors than brown to yellow or gold tones. Druzy stones find appeal among purist, artistic, and naturalistic views.

Pattern: Curved frozen domed ridged ripples with a sparkling fine drusy crystal surface.

Comment: When choosing druzy; medium to coarse druzy presents larger but fewer sparkling flashes than fine druzy, which is better for wearing in casual settings of ambient, overcast, or general medium to low light conditions. Fine druzy wears best in bright light, spotlight, and under light at night contrast conditions where the smaller but much more abundant surface sparkle can be better seen.
