Also called optical calcite or Iceland spar, this inspiring crystal exhibits a cloudy translucent to clear transparent appearance with sharply defined external crystal plane surfaces and internal and external rainbow or iridescent coloration. As it is clear to white, it is very versatile and can be worn with any colors of clothing; the natural crystalline state, broken surface planes, and internal iridescent patterns appeal mostly to artistic and naturalist views.
