An elegant and interesting solid black stone with minor color variation; providing unmatched versatility, it wears beautifully with practically any color, including black and earth tones. Mostly an artistic stone due to non-standard shape and contour; some purist qualities, however, include the solid black color, and  a highly polished surface with few visible flaws on the back surface.

Description: A solid black rounded triangular shaped, opaque stone, wrapped in 20 gauge sterling silver wire.

Contour: Smooth, skewed, peaked, and ridged face

Unique Features: Solid black color and interesting contour.

Polish: High gloss, brilliant.

Edges: Smooth sloped flat and dome shaped.

Treatment: None; natural stone, smoothed and polished only.

Comment: A typical black onyx. The black coloration is naturally caused by fine carbon throughout the stone. Once defined as a black and white banded agate, natural black onyx is currently defined the same as solid black jasper.
